Rotaville Rota Mangement Software & Employee Scheduling

My new website project staff rota management using Rotaville is now live!

Rotaville inherits much of the technology that is used to power Big.first.name Name Badge Software.

Rotaville is a new online webapp for managing workplace rotas/rosters/staff schedules. Staff and Shifts can be easily scheduled by managers with an intuitive drag 'n' drop real-time web user interface.

Many business still rely on pen and paper or they are using an excel spreedsheet that is typically only available on the managers PC. Rotaville puts the schedule online so that it's available for all staff members to access from any computer. An iPhone or Android mobile version of the website is also available so that staff can check their shift times anytime anywhere.

Rotaville generates weekly schedules in a calendar format style that can be printed or emailed in PDF format.

Other features include reminder notifications, multiple manager support, staff list printing, and workplace discussion forums.

Check out Rotaville Rota Software at http://rotaville.com/.

the Synergy of Molecular Manufacturing and Big.first.name Name Tag Software

Christine Peterson from The Foresight Institute writes about using Big.first.name nametag software for the recent Foresight 2010 Conference:

Thanks for a great service

Hi Jason -- This past weekend our nonprofit organization held a conference using one of the online conference registration services.

When we went to print the badges the day before the meeting started, we found that their service's badge-printing function simply did not work.

Panic!

I went online and found big.first.name, and in a short time we had lovely badges printed!

Thanks, big.first.name. You rock.

Meetup Name Badges How-to

Creating name badges for your next Meetup.com meetup is easy using Big.first.name.

The quick screencast below shows you how.

(After clicking play click the "Play in HD" button.)

Name Badges for your next XING event.

XING event guest lists can be exported as xml and then imported in to big.first.name to create name badges.

The import will automatically include the XING profile picture of each guest in to the big.first.name avatar field. So that your name badges generated will include the familiar profile picture from the XING website.

Twitter Avatar Name Badges

Adding personal avatars to name badges is now possible with Big.first.name. It's a work-in-progress and twitter support is now available. Meetup and Upcoming avatars will be added in the next release.

Currently available in the free "basic layout" this video gives a demo of the personal twitter avatar name badges...

Meetup202: NYC Affiliate Marketing Meetup Group

Ryan Pamplin, assistant organizer of the Meetup202: NYC Affiliate Marketing Meetup Group, used Big.first.name to make some name badges for their recent First NYC Meetup.

Ryan reports about the name badges he made:

People were impressed by them. Your web app saved me a lot of time and hassle. (I was going to use mail-merge in Word). The badges printed properly (lined up) on the first try, which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you.

Having alignment problems when you print?

When printing out your nametags and name badges it sometimes can be hard to align the printer correctly. Printing on plain paper first can help your with this.

It's important to check that the print settings on your computer isn't scaling the print job up or down in size. Check that Page Scaling is set to "None" (and not say "Shrink to Printable Area").
